Popular Nigerian social critic, Scott Iguma, has launched a scathing critique against a Lagos State Local Government Chairperson, Omo’ba Adeola Alimot Adetoro, over what he describes as misplaced priorities in governance. Adetoro assumed office in 2025 following the July local government elections.
In a video posted online, Iguma condemned the chairlady for commissioning a generator and a waiting room, as well as purchasing SUVs for councilors, while allegedly neglecting fundamental infrastructure needs in the council area.
“If you do not know what to do since you assumed office, resign!” Iguma declared passionately. He argued that despite being in office, Adetoro is “yet to make an impact” and is focusing on non-essential projects.
Iguma, who claimed to be a resident of the local government, pointed to the poor state of sanitation and road repairs as urgent issues requiring attention. His criticism highlights a growing public sentiment demanding tangible development and accountability from local government officials.
The video has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many netizens echoing Iguma's frustrations over the perceived failure of grassroots leadership to address basic amenities. As of now, Chairlady Adetoro has not issued a public response to the allegations.
