A student of the Nigerian Law School, identified as Ayomiposi Ojajuni, has passed away in Yola, Adamawa State. His death has caused sadness among students, with many saying he had been worried after learning he would not take part in the Bar Final examinations.
Students who spoke with reporters explained that he had earlier received official queries from the school. They said he became distressed when he found out his name was not included among those cleared for the professional exams.
According to Punch News on Monday 8 December, 2025, the incident happened over the weekend.
Some of the students said he was taken to the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital in Yola, where he later died. They added that many students were confused because they were not aware of the details behind the queries he received.
Another report by the online platform FactCheckNews claimed that some students believed the issue may have been linked to meeting the required attendance percentage for the Bar exams. The report also alleged that the list of eligible candidates was released very late, leaving some students unable to address their documentation before the exams.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, Suleiman Nguroje, said the police had not received an official report on the matter. He explained that he had contacted the Divisional Police Officer in the area, but was still waiting for confirmation.
The law school management had also not issued a public statement as of the time the report was filed.
The school community continues to mourn the loss as students await an official update from the management and the police.
