Speaking on Arise TV’s 360 Chats, Danboskid — whose real name is Daniel Olatunji — explained that a name change before entering the house caused confusion among his fans. According to him, he had initially submitted a name that matched his social media handles to make it easier for viewers to connect with him. However, the show’s management reportedly rejected the idea of using an already-registered name.
“Entering the house, I gave a name that matched my social media handles, but the management did not want someone coming in with an already registered name. I changed that name to Danboskid, I was out of reach with my handler. This made it hard for my fans watching me to identify me,” he said.
The housemate suggested that the change left many of his supporters unable to recognize him during his stay in the reality show, affecting his chances of securing enough votes to stay longer.
Danboskid’s eviction came as a surprise to some viewers, with many noting that early exits in the competition often result from low fan engagement or weak visibility. His revelation has sparked conversations among BBNaija fans about how branding, social media presence, and audience familiarity can influence a contestant’s success in the house.
BBNaija Season 10 continues to generate drama and intrigue as the remaining housemates vie for the grand prize.
