Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray have intensified their efforts to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal, submitting a fresh bid of €60 million to Italian side Napoli.
According to renowned Turkish football journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, the Istanbul club has already reached a personal agreement with Osimhen, paving the way for formal negotiations between the two clubs. Sabuncuoğlu disclosed this latest development in a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday evening.
“Galatasaray, having reached an agreement with Victor Osimhen, made another official offer to Napoli, proposing 60 million euros,” he wrote. The report further stated that Galatasaray will hold talks with Osimhen this week to finalize the transfer.
Osimhen, who spent the previous season on loan at Galatasaray, had a sensational campaign, scoring 37 goals across all competitions. His explosive form has made him a fan favorite and a top priority for Galatasaray’s summer transfer strategy.
While Napoli had initially placed a higher price tag on Osimhen, the new offer from Galatasaray signals their serious intent to secure the 25-year-old’s services ahead of other European suitors. The Nigerian international joined Napoli in 2020 and quickly rose to prominence in Serie A, but recent seasons have been marred by injuries and loan spells.
If successful, this deal would represent one of the biggest transfers in Turkish football history and could reshape the competitive dynamics of the Super Lig for the 2025/26 season. Galatasaray's proactive move also sends a strong message to their domestic rivals and European opponents.
With Osimhen reportedly open to staying in Istanbul permanently, all eyes are now on Napoli’s response. Fans and analysts alike are eager to see whether the Italian side will accept the €60 million offer or hold out for a higher bid.
