Popular social media activist and outspoken critic, VeryDarkMan, has broken his silence after days of concern over his sudden disappearance from social media.
This comes after his elder brother, Mark Otse, stirred public worry by asking Nigerians to pray for him.
According to Daily Post, Mark posted a heartfelt video on Sunday morning, urging the public to intercede spiritually on behalf of his brother.
“Good morning everyone, I am not here to say much. All I want you to do is to pray for VeryDarkMan. He has not posted for two days now... this is so difficult for real,” he said in the clip shared via Instagram.
The emotional appeal raised serious concerns about VeryDarkMan’s well-being, sparking speculation online about his condition and safety.
However, in a detailed response, VeryDarkMan explained the reason behind his brief silence. He disclosed that he had been overwhelmed by the ongoing violence in Nigeria, particularly the herdsmen-farmer clashes in Benue and Plateau States.
“My mind is still fkd… The killings involving the herdsmen and farmers is too much, and for the past five days, I haven’t been able to sleep,” he wrote in a post.
The social commentator revealed that he has been conducting in-depth research into the root causes of the violence. He lamented the repetitive nature of the events, saying, “Benue killings didn’t start today, Jos Plateau killings didn’t start today… Same style, same format, and same reaction. The question is not when does it stop, but how does it stop?”
While acknowledging the emotional toll, he assured fans of his safety and thanked them for their support. He ended on a softer note, wishing followers a peaceful Sunday.
VeryDarkMan is known for tackling controversial issues in Nigeria, and his temporary silence sent shockwaves across his loyal fanbase. His latest message is a reminder of the psychological burden carried by public advocates who constantly engage with traumatic national issues.
