Troops from Operation Safe Haven and the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army have successfully arrested a suspected bandit posing as a soldier in Kaduna State, seizing dangerous weapons and fake identification materials.

According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the suspect was apprehended on June 15, 2025, in Katsit community, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Dressed in full military camouflage, the individual was reportedly using the disguise to deceive and rob unsuspecting civilians.
Security operatives recovered an AK-47 rifle, an AK-47 magazine, three rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, seven used 7.62mm shells, a forged vigilante ID card, mobile phone, and two ATM cards from the suspect, who is now in custody.

Investigations are currently underway to determine the extent of his criminal activities.
In a separate operation, troops raided a suspected criminal hideout in Kwanar Lauje, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State in the early hours of June 16.
Although the suspects managed to flee, the troops discovered an abandoned motorcycle, an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, a rifle butt, 300 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, a 9mm round, and two 12.7mm rounds.

All recovered arms and materials are now under military control, with ongoing efforts to track down the fleeing accomplices. The Nigerian Army reiterated its commitment to flushing out criminal elements from communities.
