In a major breakthrough against cultism, Lagos police have arrested three suspected cult members and recovered dangerous weapons during a raid in Elemoro. The operation, conducted on April 26, 2025, followed credible intelligence about a planned gathering of about 15 cultists in the area.
The arrested suspects - Christopher Amah (28), Bada Olusesi (38), and Magaji Yusuf (34) - were caught during a covert police operation. Authorities recovered two firearms: a defaced Beretta pistol and a locally made gun loaded with live ammunition. Police spokesperson confirmed that other suspects managed to escape but operations are ongoing to apprehend them.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, issued a stern warning to criminal elements, stating: "We will not tolerate any form of cult activity in Lagos. Our officers remain vigilant and will continue to dismantle these dangerous groups." The police have intensified patrols across the state following the incident.
