Afrobeats star Kizz Daniel has opened up about the inspiration and emotional depth behind his newly released EP titled "Lemon Chase."
The seven-track project marks a bold shift for the artist, moving away from mainstream sounds to embrace a more raw and heartfelt storytelling style. Speaking about the project, Kizz Daniel said the EP was created to reflect real life—its sweetness, struggles, beauty, and confusion.
“When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade out of it,” he stated. “I wanted this project to feel like real life; sweet, sour, confusing, beautiful. This is music for your heart—for when you’re healing, or hoping, or remembering. I just wanted it to be honest, authentic and true to self.”
The project is more than a bridge to his highly anticipated album "Uncle K"—it’s a personal statement. Tracks delve into love, grief, joy, and peace, offering something relatable to every listener.
"Lemon Chase" also features a lineup of star-studded collaborators. Grammy-winning legend Angelique Kidjo, soulful singer Johnny Drille, street-hop sensation Bella Shmurda, rap maverick Odumodu Blvck, and crowd-favorite Zlatan and Fola all contribute to the project’s dynamic sound.
