The high-profile anti-corruption trial of the former Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, suffered a temporary legal delay at the Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna on Monday, June 15, 2026.
The presiding judge was forced to abruptly adjourn further judicial arguments to June 24, 2026, due to the unexpected absence of two primary co-defendants linked to the extensive criminal charge sheet.
El-Rufai is being aggressively prosecuted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over severe, multi-count allegations bothering on institutional abuse of office, systemic financial impropriety, and public sector fraud during his eight-year governance tenure between 2015 and 2023.
