The media organization and strategic communications camp of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has fired back aggressively at the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, over his recent explosive public tirade against the integrity of the frontline politician.
The development comes on the heels of Lawal’s formal resignation from the party on Monday, June 1, 2026, during which he heavily questioned the structural credibility of the recently concluded ADC presidential primary election, alleging that the voting process across thousands of wards was systematically compromised and manipulated to favor the former Vice President.
Reacting swiftly via an official press statement, Atiku’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, accused the former SGF of attempting to maliciously defame both the political party and its nationwide delegates after failing to influence the internal democratic process to suit his personal biases.

Shaibu rejected the rigging allegations in their entirety, maintaining that the primary election was transparently executed across decentralized locations and directly reflected the sovereign will of the party's grassroots membership.
He challenged Lawal to immediately produce verifiable documentary proof, credible witness testimonies, or factual data to support his viral allegations rather than feeding the public with unbacked narratives born out of political frustration.
