Public affairs analyst and former media aide to Nyesom Wike, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, has challenged Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara to publicly declare his intention to seek re-election in 2027.
Speaking in Port Harcourt, Inko-Tariah expressed concern over the "low political activity" in the state, attributing it to attempts at "state capture" by powerful political interests.
Despite the ongoing friction within the state's political landscape, Inko-Tariah insisted that Fubara maintains "organic support" from the masses.
He argued that the governor does not need the "nod" of external forces to win a free and fair election, urging him to activate his campaign structure ahead of the upcoming party primaries.
The analyst warned that delay could allow opposition forces to impose candidates on the people of Rivers State.
