Troops of Operation Enduring Peace Rescue Abductee and Recover ₦8m Ransom in Plateau


In a significant victory for internal security, troops of Operation Enduring Peace have rescued a female kidnap victim and successfully recovered ₦8 million previously paid as ransom by her family. 


The operation, conducted on Saturday, April 25, 2026, took place in the Padam Forest area of Qua’an Pan Local Government Area, Plateau State.

Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, Media Information Officer for the task force, revealed that the breakthrough followed the arrest and interrogation of a suspect linked to the April 19 abduction. 


The victim was found unharmed and taken to the General Hospital, Shendam, for medical evaluation. In a rare and commendable move, the military confirmed that the recovered ₦8 million cash was fully returned to the victim’s family. 


Operations are ongoing to track down fleeing members of the syndicate.
