Lagos-based woman Osarobo Odigie has initiated a massive legal battle against popular TikToker Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller.
Odigie is seeking N395 million in damages following an incident at Folixxx Lounge in Lekki that allegedly involved defamation, cyber harassment, and the invasion of her privacy.
The legal action follows a pre-action letter dated March 10, 2026, from the law firm FA Garrick & Co.
The document outlines an encounter from January 6, 2026, where Odigie claims she was startled by a "loud outburst" from the influencer while she was trying to purchase food.
The letter, signed by Bola Osineye, alleges that when Odigie asked Peller to moderate his volume, he responded with verbal abuse and Yoruba slurs.
Furthermore, he allegedly recorded the interaction without her consent and shared it with his millions of followers across Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram.
"Our client has suffered significant emotional distress and has developed genuine fears for her safety... the video went viral almost immediately, triggering thousands of comments," the legal team stated.
The N395 million demand is broken down into N200m for defamation, N100m for emotional trauma, N75m for cyberbullying distress, and N20m for legal fees.
Odigie is also demanding a public apology in two national newspapers.
Although Peller issued an apology on January 9 claiming his reaction was "out of character," the claimant’s lawyers have given him a seven-day ultimatum to meet these new demands or face a formal court trial.
