Heartbreak in Jigawa: Two Children of University Lecturer Perish in Early Morning Inferno

A devastating fire outbreak in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, has claimed the lives of two children belonging to Aminuddeen Abubakar, a staff member of the Federal University Dutse (FUD).

The tragic incident occurred at approximately 4:00 a.m. on Thursday at Layin Dabinai, catching the family while they slept.

According to a statement from the NSCDC Jigawa State Command spokesperson, ASC Badruddeen Tijjani, the intensity of the flames made rescue efforts impossible despite a prompt emergency response.

The children were reportedly burnt to ashes before the fire could be contained.

“Despite prompt emergency response efforts, the intensity of the fire made rescue efforts impossible, and the two children were sadly confirmed dead at the scene,” ASC Tijjani disclosed.

In a separate but related development, another fire broke out at noon in the Gida Dubu area of the state.

Preliminary investigations suggest this second blaze was caused by an electrical spark in a kitchen belonging to one Nura Garba.

Fortunately, no lives were lost in the second incident, though the fire spread to adjoining houses, damaging roofs and kitchens.

The NSCDC has urged residents to adopt stricter fire safety practices and remain vigilant with electrical appliances.
