In a statement confirming the incident, the Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Bolanle Olukoju, revealed that a coordinated response by the police, local vigilantes, and forest guards led to the immediate rescue of three victims.

"We commend the immediate and coordinated response... which led to the rescue of three of the abducted victims and helped to repel the attackers," Olukoju stated.

While sources from the Kwara South Joint Security Watch suggest at least seven people were initially taken, the government has directed an intensified manhunt to secure the release of those still in captivity.

The attack comes just days after the Joint Security Watch warned of planned coordinated strikes across Kwara South.

Security concerns have heightened in Ifelodun, Irepodun, and Isin LGAs, with Coordinator Olaitan Oyin-Zubair confirming that air surveillance and military personnel have been deployed to forestall further incursions.
