Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has publicly and tearfully apologized to her colleague, Mercy Johnson Okojie, following her recent arrest and detention over allegations of cyberbullying.
In a heartfelt video message shared online, Okorie directly addressed Mercy Johnson, marking a significant turn in their highly publicized feud. “This video is specifically for Mercy and her kids and her family. I am not perfect, and I want to apologize,” she began.
She continued, “If it’s my words, anything I’ve written, anytime your name pops up on social media, I am deeply sorry. You are not a witch. You are not what people are calling you. I just want to make peace.”
Okorie’s apology comes after a tumultuous period. She was first arrested by police cybercrime operatives at her Lagos home on January 27, 2026, based on a petition from Mercy Johnson. She was subsequently remanded in Suleja Prison before being granted bail on January 30 by a Federal High Court in Abuja, with bail set at N5 million and one surety.
In her apology, Okorie appealed to their shared roles as mothers and expressed remorse for her actions. “Our kids may meet and become friends, and as mothers, we cannot stop that. I do not condone bullying, and I apologize for anything I might have done or said against you, knowingly or unknowingly.”
She concluded by extending an olive branch: “This is a new beginning. You are my friend, and I will never listen to gossip about you again. I love you, and I pray that God blesses and lifts you higher.”
The public apology is seen as an effort to mend fences, end the legal saga, and potentially open a path to reconciliation between the two screen stars.
