The Ogun State Police Command has started a manhunt for the kidnappers who abducted six real estate marketers during a land inspection visit in Oyebola village, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.
The marketers, who were based in Lagos, travelled to the community on Friday to inspect a piece of land that their company planned to promote in an upcoming project.
According to a report by Vanguard on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the team visited the site to check the land features and gather information for their marketing brief.
The State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, confirmed that the group was attacked and taken away by suspected kidnappers shortly after they arrived at the location. He said the abduction has created fear among estate developers and property investors who operate in the area.
Ogunlowo explained that the command received the distress call immediately and deployed officers to begin a coordinated search-and-rescue operation. He noted that the marketers were part of a larger team checking the land when the armed men struck.
He added that the police have been working continuously to locate the victims and track the movement of the kidnappers. The command assured the public that efforts are ongoing and that the search operation is already yielding useful progress.
The police also appealed to residents to remain calm and to report any suspicious movement that may assist the investigation.
The command said it will continue to update the public as the rescue operation progresses.
