Fearless Toddler Bites Deadly Cobra to Death in India — Doctors Stunned by Survival

2-year-old Indian boy Govinda Kumar bites venomous cobra to death

In a shocking event that has stunned both locals and medical professionals, a 2-year-old boy in India has reportedly killed a venomous cobra — by biting it.

The rare incident occurred in Bankatwa village in Bihar, where young Govinda Kumar encountered the three-foot-long snake while playing near his home. According to local reports, the cobra slithered up to the child and wrapped itself tightly around his hand.

Instead of panicking or crying for help, Govinda did the unthinkable — he bit the snake's head with his teeth, ultimately killing it. “We saw the snake coiled around his hand, and he had the snake’s head in his mouth,” his grandmother, Mateshwari Devi, said. “We immediately separated them.”

Moments after the encounter, Govinda lost consciousness, likely due to venom exposure through his mouth. He was rushed to a nearby clinic and later transferred to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Bettiah for urgent treatment.

Pediatrician Dr. Saurab Kumar described the case as “highly unusual.” He said, “His face and mouth were swollen, which indicated a reaction to venom. Thankfully, the venom didn’t enter his bloodstream, which could have been fatal.”

The medical team administered anti-allergy treatment and closely monitored Govinda for 48 hours. As no further symptoms developed, he was later discharged in stable condition.

Experts explained that although cobra venom is typically lethal when injected into the bloodstream, ingestion through the mouth can sometimes be managed, depending on the amount of venom absorbed.

Govinda is now recovering at home. The cobra, on the other hand, reportedly died instantly due to the trauma of the child’s bite. The incredible tale has gone viral across India, with many calling the child “India’s bravest toddler.”
