The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has pledged to ensure that residents of Abuja see the impact of President Bola Tinubu’s leadership through visible development projects.

Speaking during the official commissioning of the Greater Abuja Water Supply Network, Wike expressed deep appreciation to President Tinubu for prioritising infrastructure development in the FCT.
He stated that the project, which was awarded in 2017 for $470 million under the Partnership for African Development Initiative, is now fully operational under Tinubu’s administration.
According to Wike, 85% of the funding came from the Chinese government, while the remaining 15% was provided by Nigeria’s Federal Government and the FCT Administration. The water supply network covers Loops 1, 2, 5, and 6, with future plans already underway.

“We want to sincerely thank you that under this administration, this job has been completed,” Wike said during his address. He also revealed that procurement is ongoing for a new agreement with Chinese construction firm CGC to extend water supply to satellite communities including Bwari, Kubwa, and Karu.
“Last year when you visited China, I was part of the delegation. We signed a new deal to extend water access to rural areas,” Wike added, highlighting the administration’s commitment to rural inclusion.
He also commended the National Assembly for their support and affirmed that projects will be completed in time for Tinubu’s third-year anniversary.

“We will make sure that people see what you are doing in FCT. For those who don’t want to see, it’s not your fault,” Wike said in a bold statement.
