In a major anti-kidnapping breakthrough, the Katsina State Police Command has successfully rescued 11 kidnapped victims following a heated exchange of gunfire with armed bandits.

According to a statement released by the police spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the rescue took place on Sunday night at approximately 10:30 p.m. along the Danmusa–Mara Dangeza road in Danmusa Local Government Area.

“While on patrol, the officers came across armed bandits sneaking away with abducted victims who were kidnapped from different locations in the state,” the police spokesman said. “In the process of rescuing the victims, a gun fight ensued, and we were able to rescue all eleven victims while the armed bandits ran away.”

The statement emphasized that the victims were safely rescued without casualties, and police operatives have since launched investigations to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
