The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) announced the launch of the NIN Authentication (NINAuth) service, a comprehensive suite including web, API, and mobile verification tools. According to NIMC spokesperson Dr. Kayode Adegoke, NINAuth introduces a robust layer of protection, empowering individuals with greater control over their personal information.

By requiring explicit consent before data is shared for Know Your Customer (KYC) processes or other verifications, the platform fosters trust, transparency, and user autonomy in digital identity management.

This initiative aligns with the government's commitment to digital transformation and aims to reduce identity fraud, improve service delivery, and foster trust in digital governance.
