DSS Arrests 5 Suspects in Kano Over Gruesome Murder of 1-Year-Old Baby – Shocking Details Inside

DSS arrests suspects in Kano for killing 1-year-old baby Sakina Mamuda

The Directorate of State Services (DSS) has arrested five suspects in Kano State over the kidnapping and brutal murder of a one-year-old baby girl, Sakina Mamuda, in Duhun Bake village, Gwarzo Local Government Area.

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, praised the DSS for its swift action in apprehending the suspects, who allegedly abducted the child, demanded ransom, and later killed her before dumping her body in an abandoned well.

According to a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, the suspects—Zailani Rabiu, Hafizu Yusuf, Abubakar Abdulkareem, Umar Lawan, and Amadu Salisu—are all from the same community as the victim. They are currently being investigated for criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, and homicide.

During a joint press briefing at the Government House, the State Attorney General, Haruna Dederi, alongside other senior officials, vowed that justice would be served swiftly.

Governor Yusuf expressed deep sorrow over the incident and reiterated his commitment to strengthening security through intelligence gathering and inter-agency collaboration.

The case has sparked public outrage, with calls for the immediate prosecution of the suspects.
