Kebbi State Police Command has made a major breakthrough in a chilling murder case that has gripped the region. Authorities confirmed the arrest of a prime suspect in the brutal killing of 19-year-old commercial motorcycle rider, Haruna Abdullahi.
The gruesome incident occurred last Tuesday night along the Bunza-Koko highway, where the victim's bloodied body was discovered with multiple stab wounds. According to police spokesperson Nafiu Abubakar, forensic evidence led detectives to the suspect's hideout in a neighboring village.
"This was a cold-blooded murder," stated Commissioner of Police Samuel Aina during a press briefing. "The suspect allegedly lured the victim under the pretense of needing a ride before attacking him with a sharp object."

Investigators revealed the motorcycle was found abandoned 5 kilometers from the crime scene, with the victim's mobile phone and daily earnings missing. This has led police to suspect robbery as the primary motive.
Local residents expressed shock at the violence, with the Okada riders' union declaring three days of mourning. "Haruna was a hardworking boy supporting his widowed mother," said union leader Bala Usman. "We demand justice."
The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed pending arraignment, is currently undergoing interrogation at State CID headquarters. Police sources confirm they're pursuing at least two other persons of interest in connection with the case.
This development comes as Kebbi State records a 30% spike in violent crimes compared to last quarter, prompting calls for increased security patrols along rural routes. The victim's family has appealed to the state government for support as they prepare for burial rites tomorrow.
