The glitch allowed users to deposit checks without funds and immediately access the listed amounts, essentially committing check fraud.

Despite warnings, the trend spread quickly on social media, with some users withdrawing large sums of money and celebrating their "earnings."

However, the celebration was short-lived. Chase Bank quickly fixed the glitch and began recovering the funds, resulting in massive overdraft debts for many involved.
