The Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) made history over the weekend as President Otunba Olusegun Runsewe hosted Africa’s first-ever indoor golf championship in Abuja. 

The event, held at the Golf and Health Signature, attracted 150 female golfers from various clubs in Abuja. 

Runsewe expressed immense pride in Nigeria leading the way with this innovative golfing milestone.

He highlighted that the event marks the beginning of a new era for golf development in Africa, akin to how advanced countries have nurtured the sport. 

The facility is set to become a hub for nurturing young golfing talent who will represent Nigeria globally.

Former Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria President Ekanem Ekwueme praised the facility, noting it allows players to simulate international courses, enhancing their preparation for global competitions.
