Man charged for stealing N800,000 cocoa pods at OAU farm, granted bail as case continues in Ile-Ife court.


A 41-year-old man, Sanni Moses, has been charged with allegedly stealing N800,000 worth of cocoa pods from Obafemi Awolowo University's (OAU) farm.

Moses appeared in the Ile-Ife Magistrate



Court, Osun State, facing charges of stealing and trespassing.

According to the police prosecutor, Sunday Osanyintuyi, Moses unlawfully entered the farm on September 5 and stole cocoa beans belonging to Mr. Sunday Nwankwo. 


The theft violates Sections 81, 383, and 390(9) of Osun State's Criminal Code. 


While Moses pleaded not guilty, Magistrate Abosede Sarumi granted bail of N250,000 with two sureties and set the hearing for October 9.
