The Nigerian Federal Government has issued a warning about the risk of severe flooding along the Niger and Benue rivers.
During a press briefing in Abuja, Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Joseph Utsev, cautioned that rising water levels could result in significant flooding, particularly in the Niger Delta region.

Utsev emphasized that Nigerians should remain vigilant and take proactive measures to mitigate potential flood impacts.
The flood disaster that recently affected Borno State was primarily caused by overflow from the Alau Dam.
