WhatsApp May Suspend Operations in Nigeria Over $220M Fine
WhatsApp may suspend its services in Nigeria after being fined $220 million by the FCCPC for data privacy breaches.
The commission also ordered WhatsApp to stop sharing user data with other Facebook companies without explicit consent.

A WhatsApp spokesperson indicated that complying with the order would make it impossible to provide services in Nigeria or globally.
Meta has yet to address the allegations fully but maintains that their privacy update does not involve sharing user data.
