Tragic News: Kenyan Socialite Starlet Wahu Found Fatally Assaulted in Nairobi Apartment
In a devastating turn of events, the popular Kenyan socialite Starlet Wahu, aged 26, was discovered brutally assaulted in an Airbnb located in South B, Nairobi County, Kenya.
The young woman, who happens to be the younger sister of the controversial preacher Victor Kanyari, met her untimely demise on Thursday morning, January 4, 2024. According to police reports, Wahu arrived at Papino Apartments the previous evening accompanied by a man identified as 34-year-old John Matara.
Video footage from the apartment's surveillance system captured Wahu and Matara entering an elevator and later disembarking on the fourth floor, proceeding to their rented room for the night.
Authorities were alerted after Florence Ngina, the Airbnb owner, reported that Matara hastily left the premises on Thursday morning with blood-stained clothes. Ngina, acting upon information from a security guard, rushed to the scene, discovering the apartment locked from the outside. Using a spare key, she gained entry to find Wahu's lifeless body in the living room.
The police, responding to Ngina's report, found signs of a struggle and chaos within the apartment. Wahu had suffered stab wounds to her head and right thigh during the incident, leading to her tragic death. Makadara police boss, Judith Nyongesa, stated that the assailant had cut a vein connecting to the heart, hastening Wahu's demise.
Further investigation at the scene revealed HIV testing kits, used condoms, marijuana, a bottle of alcohol, and a blood-stained kitchen knife believed to be the murder weapon.
After a post-mortem conducted at City Mortuary on Friday, January 5, Wahu was laid to rest at her family home in Kamulu on Saturday, January 6. The circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation by the authorities.
