In Rivers: Soldiers arrest suspected kidnapper
The soldiers had raided the hideout of the kidnappers in the forest before apprehending the suspect, whose identity has yet to be disclosed.
According to Punch, A statement by the Media Coordinator, Nigerian Army Operations, Col Aminu Iliyasu, said apart from the arrest of the suspect, some items were recovered during the raid on the kidnappers’ hideout.
Some of the items recovered by the troops attached to the Main 16 Brigade Garrison are military camouflage and speedboats.

Iliyasu said, “As troops continue to raid the hideouts of insurgents, bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements nationwide with remarkable successes, troops of the 16 Brigade Garrison have raided a suspected kidnappers’ hideout at Sisi-ama Village in Akuku-Toru LGA of Rivers State.
“The troops arrested one suspect and recovered three pairs of military camouflage, two Shell Petroleum Development Corporation overall suits, five speedboats and two generators.
“Other items recovered are one pumping machine, one power bank, four mobile phones, 117 voter cards, one boat engine and one box radio.”
Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai, has praised Nigerians for supporting the army in the fight against banditry.
According to the statement, the COAS urged law-abiding citizens to go about their lawful business without fear of molestation and intimidation.
