The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially called for the immediate suspension and resignation of the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Tijani, following his appearance at a political event tied to the 2027 general elections.
The opposition party raised concerns after video footage circulated online showing the police chief attending a gathering organized by the City Boy Movement, a grassroots organization associated with supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a public statement issued on Tuesday, the NDC condemned the commissioner's participation, claiming that his presence at a partisan gathering compromises the neutrality and professional integrity expected of the Nigeria Police Force ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
