Labour Party leader Peter Obi held a strategic "closed-door" meeting with former President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday, describing the encounter as a vital step in repositioning Nigeria.

Writing on X (formerly Twitter), Obi emphasized that the 2027 elections should be viewed as a "critical opportunity to reset the trajectory" of the country.

He advocated for a shift from a consumption-based economy to a production-driven model, stating that leadership must prioritize competence over personal ambition.

The meeting is part of Obi’s broader nationwide consultation with key stakeholders to build a cross-regional alliance for the next political cycle.
