A 20-year-old man, Muhammad Salisu, has been arrested by the Jigawa State Police Command for allegedly killing his 57-year-old father, Salisu Abubakar, in Gwaram Local Government Area.

The incident occurred on Monday night at Bakin Kasuwa Quarters, Sara District. According to reports, family members discovered the deceased with multiple machete cuts on his body. He was rushed to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Birnin Kudu, where he was pronounced dead.

Police spokesperson SP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect attacked his father with a machete, inflicting fatal injuries to the shoulder, neck, and chest. The Commissioner of Police, CP AT Abdullahi, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Dutse for further investigation.
