Their father, Pa Robinson Aghalu, a 79-year-old retired soldier, revealed that the children began vomiting and complaining of severe stomach pain after eating. Despite being rushed to various hospitals — including a maternity clinic, Iyienu Mission Hospital, and Crown Hospital — five of the six children succumbed to the illness.

The mother, who also consumed the same meal, is currently battling for her life in an undisclosed hospital. A medical doctor confirmed that the symptoms strongly point to food poisoning as the probable cause.
Only one child survived — he was away at a relative’s home at the time of the incident. The grieving family is now seeking support to cover the growing medical and funeral expenses.
