In a decisive move against drug trafficking, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) executed a series of coordinated raids on notorious drug havens in Kano State, resulting in the arrest of 22 suspects and the seizure of significant quantities of illicit substance.
The operations targeted areas known for high drug activity, aiming to dismantle networks contributing to the state's drug menace.
NDLEA's Kano State Commander, Abubakar Idris Ahmad, stated that the raids were part of an ongoing effort to curb the proliferation of narcotics in the region. The agency confiscated various drugs, including cannabis, cocaine, and opioids, during the operation.
Ahmad emphasized the NDLEA's commitment to eradicating drug-related activities and urged the public to support their efforts by providing information on suspicious activities.
The arrested individuals are currently undergoing investigation and will be charged accordingly. This crackdown underscores the NDLEA's resolve to address the challenges posed by drug trafficking and abuse, aiming to create a safer environment for the residents of Kano State.
