EFCC Arrests 40 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Niger State, Recovers Fetish Items

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 40 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Niger State. The operation, conducted by the EFCC’s Ilorin Zonal Command, targeted various locations within the state, leading to the recovery of several incriminating items, including laptops, mobile phones, and fetish materials believed to be used for cybercrime activities.  


According to the EFCC, the arrests were the result of meticulous intelligence gathering and surveillance aimed at curbing the rising tide of cybercrime in the region. The suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.


The commission reiterated its commitment to eradicating internet fraud and other related offenses, urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
