Traditionalists Call for End to Yoruba Culture Misrepresentation in Movies and Skits

Traditionalists seek collaboration with Nigerian filmmakers to preserve and correctly portray Yoruba culture, spirituality, and traditions in media.

The Isese Welfare Association (IWA) has voiced concerns over the distortion of Yoruba traditions in Nigerian films and skits.

To address this, the group plans to hold an interactive session with key stakeholders in the South-West’s film industry. 

The session will focus on preserving Yoruba culture, spirituality, and religious practices while promoting accurate representation in media.
