Nigerian Highlife artist Flavour, also known as Chinedu Okoli, recently shared insights into his journey from being a music producer to becoming a celebrated singer.

During an episode of the ‘In My Opinion’ podcast, Flavour reminisced about his early days, charging N5,000 per beat as a producer.
He credited rapper Mr Raw for encouraging him to transition from producing to singing, which ultimately changed the course of his career.

Flavour recalled how he started as an instrumentalist, then moved into production before taking up singing after seeing the positive reception to a chorus he contributed to one of Mr Raw’s songs.
His hit song ‘Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix)’ catapulted him to fame, making him a household name across Africa and beyond.
