22-Year-Old Arrested in Adamawa for Allegedly Kidnapping and Killing 8-Year-Old Cousin

The Adamawa State Police Command apprehended 22-year-old Muhammed Mustapha of Madina, Mubi North Local Government, on July 27 for allegedly kidnapping and murdering his 8-year-old cousin, Muhammed Auwal (Khalifa).

The incident occurred on July 25, 2024, in Madina ward, Mubi North Local Government Area. 

The suspect allegedly held the victim in a hidden location and demanded a ransom of 2.8 million Naira from his parents. Tragically, the suspect intoxicated the victim and later strangled him to death.

SP Suleiman Nguroje, spokesperson of the state police command, confirmed the arrest by detective officers attached to the State Intelligence Department (SID), following a report by Harris Muhammed, the victim’s father and the suspect’s uncle. 

Nguroje mentioned that the suspect has voluntarily confessed to the crime and blamed an intoxicating substance he consumed.
