Over 164,000 white women gathered online on Friday, raising nearly $2 million for Vice President Kamala Harris. Dubbed ‘White Women: Answer the Call,’ this event became the largest Zoom meeting in history.

Speakers at the event included pop star Pink and actress Connie Britton, who emphasized Harris’s qualifications. Organised by activist Shannon Watts, the meeting surpassed 100,000 participants within the first hour, with donations soaring past $1 million.

Due to the overwhelming number of participants, Zoom experienced glitches, prompting many to switch to YouTube. This event highlights the significant impact women can have in politics.

“150k white women on #AnswerTheCall to support a woman of colour. Seeing Obama get elected was a highlight, but this is history,” an X user remarked.

Kamala Harris, born to an Indian mother and a Jamaican father, was born on October 20, 1964.
