Wizkid Becomes First African Artiste On Spotify To Achieve This…




Nigerian act singer, songwriter and performer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has hit another milestone on global streaming platform Spotify.


The Starboy frontline act and owner, who recently became the only African artist in history to spend a total of 100 weeks on the Billboard World Albums Chart with his classic project ‘Made in Lagos’, has set another record on Spotify.

According to chart data, the Grammy-nominated singer has surpassed a whopping 5 billion total streams on Spotify across all credits.

Wizkid Is The Only African Artist In History To…




Starboy Wizkid saw his album ‘Made In Lagos’ set an unmatched and unbeatable record on the Billboard World Albums Chart as he is the only African artist in history to spend a total of 100 weeks on the chart.

‘Made In Lagos’ had peaked at the number one position on the chart but currently holds the number 11 position on the chart as of Monday, October 10, 2022.

Other Nigerian albums such as Asake’s ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe’ holds the number 5 position after spending a total of 5 weeks on the Billboard World Albums chart and peaking at number 2. Burna Boy holds the number 4 position with his album ‘Love Damini’ which peaked at number 2 and has also spent a total of 14 weeks on the Billboard World Albums Chart. Rema’s ‘Rave & Roses’ holds the number 7 position on the chart which is its peak position after spending a total of 10 weeks on the Chart.

Big Wiz still holds the record of the African artist that has spent the longest number of weeks on the chart but 100 weeks is definitely a milestone worth celebrating as we prepare for his album ‘More Love Less Ego.’

“Never seen a cat take rubbish from a dog”- Sophia Momodu throws shade amid reports of Davido unfollowing her on IG





Nigerian singer, Davido’s first babymama, Sophia Momodu, has thrown heavy shades via Instagram.


This is coming shortly after ace singer, Davido, unfollowed her on his official Instagram account.



The singer was the first to unfollow her days after he was spotted hanging out with his 3rd Baby mama, Chioma.


The duo were spotted together at his concert, with Chioma rocking his new 30BG pendant having the inscription, 002.


After unfollowing Davido, Sophia took to her Instagram story to share a clip of a cat fighting with a dog.


Sharing the clip, she said: “Never seen a cat take rubbish from a dog”.

Chioma Jesus wins popularity contest against Beyonce






Nigerian gospel singer Chioma Jesus has won a popularity contest against American music star Beyonce.



A poll centered on popularity was organized for the two celebrities after a Twitter user, @Imoteda claimed it is weird for people to think that football players are “crazily popular”.




The tweet got the attention of many football fans. While many countered the claim, another Twitter user organized a poll between Chioma Jesus and Beyonce with the caption “who is more popular”.


Chioma Jesus garnered 85.7% of the 77,864 votes cast to win the poll against Beyonce.

I miss being on stage while making eye contact with people’s girlfriends – Fireboy




YBNL star, Fireboy hints at the trill of being a performing artiste to an audience particularly the female fans.



The singer who recently spoke on his relationship with Asake, and the making of ‘Bandana,’ revealed that he missed the eye-to-eye contact while at a show.



Fireboy disclosed this in a Twitter post where he stated that he missed  making eye contact with other people’s girlfriends.

Fireboy tweeted;


“I miss being on stage, singing while making eye contact with people’s girlfriends.”

He continued, “one day we’re going to have a conversation.”


One of the singer’s recent post-stage highlights was crying after performing a remix of his hit single “Peru” with British singer, Ed Sheeran, at Wembley Stadium in London.





In a video clip that went viral at the time, 26-year-old Fireboy was seen being chased by a cameraman as he started to get emotional backstage.

‘Don’t call me lucky, call me Badass’ – Tacha brags on her numerous achievements




Former Big Brother Naija contestant, Natacha Akide who is better known to her fans as Tacha has revealed that she is not to be called lucky, but a badass because of her numerous self achievements.


The reality star who is currently hospitalized in Dubai released gorgeous photos of herself and further stated how she makes her money.


She wrote: “I am NOT LUCKY. You know what I AM? I TAKE ADVANTAGE Of the OPPORTUNITIES THAT  C O M E  My WAY And I WORK REALLY, REALLY HARD! Don’t CALL ME LUCKY. Call ME A B A D A S S.”



Tacha had also in a previous post urged Nigerians to vote wisely and vote for good leaders in the forthcoming general elections.



She nudged Nigerians toward voting right in preparation for the coming 2023 General Election.


The 27-year-old admonished the citizens to be involved at all levels of the government; adding that everyone would suffer bad leadership if the country does not get it right in 2023.


She warned those who have been paid by different candidates to cause havoc, to think of their future as those in power have nothing to lose if the country crashes.


“I have a very important message. We are going into a campaign period in preparation of the election. We are actively involved in all levels local government, senate, house of representatives, all the way to the presidency. You go to church to pray that you want a better Nigeria but you are supporting a bad leader.”


She continued, “Have sense I cos if we get it wrong next year, you will have yourself to blame. As you are campaigning for your Oga or Chairman, I want you to have in mind that your Oga don’t have anything to lose if Nigeria crashes tomorrow, they don’t have a lot to lose”, She said

After a 10-month hiatus, celebrated Ghanaian and African hip-hop/rap artist, Sarkodie surprised his teeming fans a few days ago with the announcement of the release date and title of his 8th studio album, “Jamz.” Off the upcoming album is the release of the first single dubbed, “Labadi.”



Out now on various digital streaming platforms, “Labadi” is a lush scenery-influenced party anthem produced by Coublon (producer of the hit song “Non-Living Things”) and features Ghanaian silky crooner and frequent collaborator, King Promise. King Sark is in a celebratory mood on the track, rapping with his signature panache while rallying the beautiful people around him to a celebration of life.



Labadi” is a mid-tempo blend of Afrobeats and Amapiano (log drumz) genres, creating the right vibes to get the party started and rightly so, sets the tone for the sonic feels Sarkodie hinted “Jamz” will be exploring. It was indeed a surprise for most music lovers as popular American rapper, Cardi B, on Sunday night, became the first solo female rapper to win the Grammy for Best Rap Album at the 61st ceremony.
Cardi B beat the likes of Travis Scott, Mac Miller, Pusha T to win the best rap album, which is her first Grammy, for ‘Invasion of Privacy’.
The happy rapper while accepting the award, appreciated her estranged husband, Offset and his Migos group; and all the artists featured on the album for their support.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ singer also recounted the difficulties she faced recording the album while pregnant with her daughter, Kulture and appreciated her team for inspiring her to finish the album.
Cardi B, “shared the Grammy with Mac Miller,”the young rapper who died in 2018 and was also nominated in the same Best Album category.
Acclaimed female rappers Remy Ma and Lil Kim joined fans and other celebrities on Twitter to celebrate Cardi B’s historic Grammy win
Leading the celebrations, Lil Kim wrote, “Thank U Jesus! Look at God. Congratulations boo @iamcardib you deserve it! So happy for you.
Also, rapper Remy Ma tweeted, “Yes Cardi B congratulation babes.”
Iggy Azalea wrote, “Woah Cardi B won! Super happy to see a female rapper win a Grammy, you dominated 2018 girl.”
Music producer, DJ Khaled wrote: “Congrats Cardi B Well Deserved.”
